Are you qualified to fly?
Our pilot has received extensive training and is qualified to carry out commercial work using the Quadcopter. The Remote Pilot Qualification is accredited by the Civil Aviation Authority.
Are you insured?
Yes, our public liability insurance cover is £2m.
Can you fly in rain?
No.
How does wind affect the flight?
Flights do not take place in very windy conditions. The wind speed is monitored prior to and during the flight.
How long does the battery last?
One battery provides a flight time of around 20 minutes. We carry several batteries to ensure that we don’t run out of power.
What are the flight parameters?
We can fly at a maximum height of 400ft (120m) and 500m horizontally. UAVs cannot be flown within 50 metres of structures, vehicles or people that are not under the control of the person in charge of the aircraft.
Where we have permission from the building owner/managing agent, we can fly closer. This also applies to people where they have been briefed on the emergency procedures.
Can you fly inside?
Yes, in a large enough space. An initial assessment would have to be made.
What is the maximum speed?
About 50km/h – 30mph although we would not recommend this
Can you see what you are recording?
Yes, there is a wireless video connection to the monitor although we cannot broadcast live.
Can you control the camera from the ground?
Yes, however there is no zoom facility.
